Brooklyn Cycling Jersey
Another extremely popular vintage cycling jersey owes more to its name than its sporting history. The Brooklyn Cycling Jersey was used by a successful team that raced in the 1970's. The team was named after a brand of chewing gum and it had some great riders, although many people riding around in the jersey would be hard pressed to name a few riders from the team.
One of the greatest riders from the Brooklyn cycling team was Roger de Vlaeminck who won Paris-Roubaix four times and Milan-San Remo three times besides many other races.
One of the best things about the Brooklyn cycling jersey is that its front and center in the most excellent race documentary called A Sunday in Hell from 1976. Here's a link to the complete movie that is currently available via youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4IDCkcnnHg
